Calculations Formula Example
To convert millimeters to inches millimeters x .03937 = inches 110mm x .03937 = 4.33″
To convert inches to millimeters inches / .03937 = millimeters 4.33″ / .03937 = 110 mm
To convert meters to feet meters x 3.28 = feet 360m x 3.28 = 1181′
To convert feet to meters feet / 3.28 = meters 1181′ / 3.28 = 360m

Calculate Your Ribbon Price:

(price per msi/0.6445) x ribbon width mm x ribbon length m x .001 = Price per Roll

Example – ($0.135/0.6445) x 110mm x 300m x .001 = $6.91/roll

Calculate Your MSI Price:

Ribbon Roll Price/((ribbon width mm x ribbon length m x .001)/0.6445) = Ribbon msi Price

Example – $6.91/((110mm x 300m x .001)/0.6445) = $0.135 msi

Calculate the Number of Ribbons Needed for a Job:

You have 500,000 labels, 4″ width x 6″ length, printer is a Zebra, the ribbon length is 300 meters or 984 feet. There is a 1/8″ (.125) gap between the labels.

500,000 labels x 6.125″ (label length + gap) = 3,065,000″

984′ x 12″ = 11,808″

3,065,000″ / 11,808″ = 259 ribbons needed for the job
